Reconstitution math, explained in three lines
The math behind every reconstitution calculator:
Concentration (mg/mL) = peptide in the vial (mg) ÷ water added (mL)
Volume to draw (mL) = amount needed (mg) ÷ concentration
Syringe units = volume (mL) × 100 on a U-100 insulin syringe
Example: a 5 mg vial with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water is 2.5 mg/mL. 250 mcg (0.25 mg) is 0.1 mL — 10 units.
More water makes small amounts easier to measure accurately; less water keeps volumes small. Our calculator does the math and suggests a water amount that lands on a clean mark: vialcheck.io/calculator
